Hermitage day. Got into the queue about 10:30. By noon the queue was twice as long. My student card has been coming in handy this
trip. Most places is
50% off the admission but at the Hermitage, students are free. Ran into Lana a couple of
times. Earl said that we had seen
the Kent Greenland paintings in Alaska. I did not remember them. We found whole sections of the museum that
were free of tourists. The busiest
tourist areas were the pre nineteenth century art and the royal palace
areas. We did check out the special
exhibits: Relics from the Post Roman Empire Era and Selected Treasures from the
Shanghai Museum.
After five hours we called it quits.
