Background:
My last time in Turkey was back in 1989.  I had spent 3 days in Istanbul with my mother.  I remember it being very smoggy.  Everyone smoked. Traffic was chaotic.  It was tough getting around and negotiating with the taxi drivers.

I found the air much cleaner this trip. The traffic flowed in lanes.  There were pedestrian crossings. Metro, trams and buses are now available to get to all the major tourist sites, including the airport.

I was on my own for 3 days in Cappadocia as Earl doesn’t like hikes, heights or underground cities.
